چکیده

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical biochemistry behavior Black-Tufted Marmosets (Callithrix penicillatta) submitted blood collection without sedation and after general anesthesia with anesthetics isoflurane or sevoflurane. Blood collections were performed on (M1) day before by physical restraint, (M2) anesthesia. There four groups: Isoflurane (GI) Sevoflurane (GS) using an anesthetic box. GIM: induction mask for a shorter period. Control group (GP): restraint in both moments. Plasma separated frozen measure clinic values. Urea higher at M2 groups GI GP. AST GI, GS, GP only showed increase CK M2. Glucose M1 fructosamine GI. Stress caused can cause biochemical changes these must be considered when interpreting exams. Both inhalational sevoflurane did not clinically significant results.

Behavioral characteristics of pair bonding in the black tufted-ear marmoset (Callithrix penicillata)

The present study describes how the development of a pair bond modifies social, sexual and aggressive behavior. Five heterosexual pairs of marmosets, previously unknown to each other, were formed at the beginning of the study. At the onset of pairing, social, sexual, exploratory and aggressive behaviors were recorded for 40 min. The animals were then observed for 20 min, both in the morning and...

Social and developmental influences on reproductive function in female Wied's black tufted-ear marmosets (Callithrix kuhli).

Although marmoset social groups may contain multiple adult females, reproduction is typically limited to one breeding female. A variety of endocrine and behavioral mechanisms have been identified that regulate fertility among female marmosets. In the present study, we assessed the mechanism(s) by which fertility is regulated in female black tufted-ear marmosets, Callithrix kuhli. The reproducti...

Hybridization effects and genetic diversity of the common and black-tufted marmoset (Callithrix jacchus and Callithrix penicillata) mitochondrial control region.

Hybridization is continually documented in primates, but effects of natural and anthropogenic hybridization on biodiversity are still unclear and differentiating between these contexts remains challenging in regards to primate evolution and conservation. Here, we examine hybridization effects on the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) control region of Callithrix marmosets, which provide a unique glimpse...

Development of Heterosexual Relationships in Wied’s Black Tufted-Ear Marmosets (Callithrix kuhh]

In tamarins and marmosets, long-term stable sociosexual relationships are formed between heterosexual adults, but these “monogamous” relationships are often formed in groups that contain multiple adults of both sexes. The patterning of interactions during pair formation may therefore be shaped by this demographic profile. We evaluated the development of sociosexual relationships in six captive ...
